Saurabh Kumar Ariyan and Nikhil Anmol Kumar, two students from JRE School of Engineering have been successful in securing approval for their in-house project by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Their project, “Abiot” was among the 23 selected from all across India.
The project ‘Abiot’ is a robotic platform which can find its way through agricultural fields and detect or attract particular types of pest and eliminate them using
electromechanical means. The project aims to repel or trap most aerial pests which primarily affect fruit crops. This process assists farmers and consumers by
preserving the quality of the soil and by reducing human intake of by-products which are introduced into the food chain through the use of chemical pesticides.
IEEE will be funding this project to turn it into reality!

“Sneak Peek Into Life At JRE”
“JRE is a totally residential campus and I will cherish the experience of living here lifelong. This place has taught me many things. A lot of socializing takes place on the campus. You will meet life-long friends here and the JRE hostel is the easiest place to connect with your peers outside the classroom. We learn about various cultures which will help us to easily adapt to the mixed culture that awaits us in the corporate world.”
Anshika Bhalla | Student of batch 2011-2013
“Learning of a lifetime”
“The two year tenure with JRE gives an edge over other students since we are already trained to meet the requirements of the industry with relevant knowledge, skills and attitude. My college life here is one of the most exciting, eye opening, full of learning sessions, and an incredible part of my life. Life is at its best when you are provided with learning that develops your personality”
Pavel Bawa | Student of batch 2011-2013
“An experience worth it”
In the initial days of college, we had a trip to Pegasus, Dehradun where we had an unconventional training on team building which is the mantra for the success of any organization. The entire
program was conducted in a safe, risk free, non-threatening and fun filled atmosphere, where the consequence of all action was only learning. In addition to that, we had ‘Marketing Haat’ where we played on our money and had a practical experience of working in a team or groups.”
Nupur Jain | Student of batch 2011-2013
“Learnings from the reel to the real”
“Though there have been many group activities in the college but the one from which I have received maximum benefit was MANTIS SIMULATION GAMES. It was a very rigorous and competitive one-day group activity. Divided into groups of 4, our task was to run a virtual automobile company by collaborating the various business functions. We had to take various decisions based on the
financial statements and for the first time I felt the difference between theoretical and practical knowledge.”
Sonal Pandey | Student of batch 2011-2013
