Faculty of Engineering

Dr. Bh V Krishna Rao -  Dean – JRE School of Engineering
Dr. Rao was awarded his PhD from Andhra University and has accumulated wide experience as a top engineering educator and administrator for over 20 years. He has been instrumental in setting up new Engineering Colleges and is committed to developing quality education through developing the pedagogical skills and innovative capabilities of all academic staff. He has developed a number of training programs and has been a regular, designated Professional Trainer for CDAC Executives. Additionally he has proven expertise in setting up Systems & Procedures in terms of administration in Engineering and Science. Dr. Rao is a highly motivated tertiary-level educator with demonstrated skills in mentoring, leadership and management and this led to appointments as Principal in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States. He has also been nominated as Chief Coordinator for the conduct of university examinations numerous times in addition to heading student clubs. Dr. Rao is an active researcher and publisher particularly focusing on analysis of the atmosphere.


Dr. Lalit Mittal, Professor - Department of Physics
Dr Lalit Mittal has been working as a professor in the Department of Physics. He has more than 13 years of experience in the teaching and research after obtaining his M.Sc (1998) and Ph.D (2006). Dr. Mittal has published numerous papers in refereed International Journals and attended several number of national and international conference/seminar. He has visited many organizations of national and international repute. His current research interests are in Raman spectroscopy studies for cancerous tissues, Nano Optics and Photonics. Dr. Mittal is also spending some time about how to make difficult concept easy to understand. His experiences will certainly help to the privileged students enriching their understanding in the foundations of physics and engineering.


Dr. Manoj Kr. Tyagi, Associate Professor - Department of Chemistry
Dr. Tyagi was awarded a PhD in Chemistry from CCS University, Meerut. He has conducted high-level research in Industrial Pollution and is an outstanding teacher of Chemistry at both graduate and postgraduate levels. He is developing a publication record in national and international journals and has participated in a range of conferences and workshops. Additionally, he is an Academic Counselor at the IGNOU Study Centre, Hapur and has over 10 years of teaching experience in Engineering Colleges. He has an impressive record in mentoring students and academic leadership.

Mr. Yudhishthir Pandey (M. Tech)
Mr. Yudhishthir Pandey did M. Tech (Energy& Environment Management) from IIT, Delhi and B.E (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) from KIET, Ghaziabad in 2002. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D., from Electrical Engineering Department of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi on “Locational Marginal Prices (LMP)” calculation in Restructured Power System. He has more than 9 years of teaching experience in various colleges affiliated with GBTU (formerly UPTU), Lucknow. He has taught various subjects like Electrical Machines, Electro-Magnetic Field Theory, Signals & Systems etc.

Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Pippal, Associate Professor - Dept. of Computer Science
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Pippal earned his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from MNNIT, Allahabad. He has some 10 years of teaching experience at UG and PG levels and is an active researcher. To date he has guided students through over 50 B.Tech and 3 M.Tech projects and continues to be involved in supervision. In the process of enhancing his academic knowledge, he is pursuing his doctorate in “Cloud Computing” from MNNIT, Allahabad. He is a winner of the IBM INVITE competition for the best software project for monitoring students, and he has developed an application level driver for multiple camera connectivity by WDM architecture using VC++ 6IDE

Mr. Rohit Rathi, Assistant Professor - Dept. of Computer Science
Mr. Rathi earned a B.Tech (CSE) and an MS (Software Systems) from BITS, Pilani and has international certification from “DALE CARNEGIE” in “High Impact Teaching Skills”. He has over 6 years experience in teaching and is a talented, qualified professional with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. He has outstanding leadership qualities and enthusiasm, and his research areas of interest include Programming Languages, Algorithms and Software Engineering.


Mr. Gaurav Sinha,Associate Professor - Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering
Mr. Sinha completed M.Tech (Regular ‘2002) from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal and B.E. from Nagpur University. He is pursuing PhD from Shridhar University, Pilani. He has over 10 years of teaching experience at regular positions in various government and private engineering colleges in India. He has also worked in foreign university under Ministry of Higher Education, Libya. He is building his research record and has presented research papers in international journals and conferences. His areas of research include optical communication, mobile communication and digital communication.

Mr. Sumit Kumar, Assistant Professor - Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering
Mr. Kumar earned an M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems and is Pursuing a PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University) in the Electrical Engineering Department. Additionally, he was awarded an MBA in Information Technology. His specialization areas are VLSI Design and Wireless Adhoc Networks and he has presented several papers at top National and International conferences. He has over 6 years of teaching experience.



Mr. Savya Sachi, Assistant Professor—Dept. of English
Mr. Savya Sachi is a certified English Language (Phonetics and Advanced Grammar) and Soft Skills Trainer and has seven years of experience in guiding budding engineers in communication skills. He earned his MA and PGDTE from Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (now English and Foreign Languages-University) and PGDM from FIMS-Lucknow. He is currently pursuing Ph. D. from University of Lucknow and has five years of research experience in the field of Columbian Literature written in Spanish translated in English. He has also done courses in French and German languages. His area of interest is exploring linguistic patterning in across cultures. He has also been an active part of English Syllabus Review Committee for Primary Level, a Central Government of India initiative for ELTS Support Scheme.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar Medhi, Assistant Professor – Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
He brings in more than fifteen years of experience in Industry and academia. His area of expertise includes Manufacturing Science, CAD/CAM/CNC and Quality Control. Apart from teaching he has successfully provided consultancy services to small industries during his tenure in MSME tool room, Guwahati in the capacity of Senior Engineer. In addition he is an ISO 9000 certified Lead Auditor. He is presently pursuing his PhD in Business Administration from AIMA – Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh joint programme.

Dr. Rajdeep Deb, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Chemistry
Dr. Deb earned a PhD in Material Science from Assam University in 2010 and lectured in the Department of Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology, Silchar prior joining JRE. Internationally, he was a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA and is currently a life member of the Indian Liquid Crystal Society. He taught postgraduate programs in Applied Chemistry in addition to B.Tech courses and has research interests that encompass different aspects of Materials Science. Dr. Deb has an abiding passion for the design and synthesis of all different liquid crystal systems with novel molecular architecture, and he was recipient of the SPIE Scholarship for recognition as a “Future Leader of Photonics” in 2009. Others honors include: Featured Artist of the Month, July2011; May 2010 and May 2009 for the International Liquid Crystal Society and an honorable mention in the Nikon Small World Competition 2011.

Mr. Rahul Verma, Assistant Professor - Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
Rahul Verma completed his B.Sc. (Engineering) from Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, with distinction, and he successfully earned his Cambridge certification through Wipro Mission 10X on high impact teaching skills. Presently he is pursuing M.Tech (Modular) through G.B.T.U., Lucknow. He has attended a number of engineering conferences and workshops on soft skill development. Mr. Verma has four years of teaching experience in Engineering colleges and his favorite areas of interest include engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, the internal combustion engine and tribology.


Dr. Garima Jha, Assistant Professor and Head, Dept. of English
Dr. Garima Jha is an ardent student of literature with a strong belief in the development of imagination through literary criticism. She was awarded her Doctorate in Literature from Dr. H. S. Gaur Central University, Sagar (MP) and dedicates her energy towards research in Comparative Literature, Post-colonialism and Eco-criticism. She has 8 years of experience in higher education focusing on linguistic development, value formation and innovation in students. Dr. Jha is well known for her excellent research by the Comparative Literature Association of India (CLAI), the English Language Teachers Association of India (ELTAI) and the Indian Association of Canadian Studies (IACS).


Usha Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Electronics and Communication

Ms. Usha Chauhan is an avid researcher in the field of VLSI Design and Communication Systems and joins JRE with over a decade of experience in both teaching and industry (HAL-Kanpur Division). She completed her B. Tech from U.B.D.T.C.E Karnataka and M. Tech from Rajasthan Vidya Peeth with a specialization in Communication Systems. Ms. Chauhan has a dynamic personality and demonstrates excellent leadership and managerial qualities both in and out of the classroom. She has helped students in the Electronics and Communication Department to focus on creativity, innovation and achievement and consistently motivates them through a highly imaginative, well planned participative style of teaching.


Mr. Reddipalli Balaji, Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering
Mr. R. Balaji is deeply concerned about natural energy waste and its consequences and concentrates his research on the concept of renewable energy systems in the Power Sector. He completed his M. Tech in the field of Power and Energy Systems from I.I.T Kharagpur and B.E (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) from the University College of Engineering, Osmania University, all with distinction. His research focuses on maximum power point operation of the unlimited natural energy available on the planet. He is an energetic teacher who engages students through participation, real time imagination and experimentation.


Dr. Anil Kumar Taneja, N.E.T(UGC-CSIR),Professor and Head, Dept. of Mathematics

Dr. Anil Kumar Taneja is a Professor and Head of the Mathematics Department and he joins JRE with some 18 years of experience in teaching at tertiary level. He was awarded his Doctorate in Mathematics after completing his Post Graduate studies from M.D. Univ. Rohtak, and he passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) & U.G.C. Dr. Taneja is well published and has written and presented a number of research papers in National & International Conferences. His key area of research and interest is Reliability Modeling. In addition to academics, Dr Taneja has a rich experience of conducting university exams, sports activities, cultural activities, educational tours and excursions.


Ms. Mona Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE
Mona Sharma is a B.Tech (Gold Medalist) from Rajasthan University in Electronic Instrumentation and Control. She completed her ME in Instrumentation and Control from NITTTR Chandigarh with high academic credentials. She has over 6 years experience in teaching in reputed engineering colleges. Actively involved in research she has presented quality research papers in national conferences and seminars. Her area of interest is Artificial Intelligence, Instrumentation and control system.



Dr. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics
Dr. Ashok Kumar is an Assistant Professor in Physics Department having teaching experience of more than 9 years. He obtained his M.Sc. in 2004, M. Phil. in 2007 and Ph.D. in 2012. Dr. Ashok has published several research papers in peer reviewed international journals like PRC, Elsevier and Springer. Beside this he has attended many national and international DAE Symposia on Nuclear and High Energy Physics. His areas of interest include low and high energy physics, solid state nuclear track detectors, nuclear emulsions and applied physics.


Dr. Ananta Geetey Uppal, Associate Professor, Department of English
Dr. Ananta is a passionate and committed teacher who strongly believes in maintaining and cultivating a strong teaching and learning environment that goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. She is a Ph. D. from Barakatullah University, Bhopal, and an M.A. and M. Phil. in English Language Teaching from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan. She is a certified trainer of Business English Certificate (BEC), a course offered by University of Cambridge. Dr Ananta has attended Teacher Support Program, Exam Familiarization workshop for the Cambridge ESOL Business English Certificate (BEC) at the British Council, Delhi; Workshop on the ‘Impact of Technology in Business Language Teaching’ and ESOL Meet on ‘Importance of Listening and Speaking in Business English’ by University of Cambridge. She has twelve years of rich experience in teaching ‘English Communication' and 'Communication Skills in Life’. She has a proven ability of organizing National Seminar as convener, workshops on Presentations, Group Discussions, Personal Interviews, Public Speaking and editorial and content development. She is also a member of English Language Teachers Association of India (ELTAI).


Mr. Sunil Kumar Ojha, Assistant Professor,Department of Mechanical
Mr. Ojha completed his B.Tech from the Institute of Engineering & Rural Technology Allahabad and his M.Tech in Mechanical (Machine Design) from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. Presently he is pursuing Ph.D. from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. Asst. Prof. Ojha has attended various seminars and workshops, and has completed six years of teaching in various Engineering Institutes. His key areas of interest include Engineering Mechanics, Machine Design, Theory of Machines, Strength of Materials, Vibration and Finite Element Analysis.


Mr. Anand Kumar Srivastava, Assistant Professor,Department of IT
Mr. Anand Srivastava earned his B.Tech (IT) and M.S (Software System) from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, and has completed over 7 years of teaching in various private engineering colleges in India. Asst. Prof Srivastava’s specialization areas are Pattern Recognition, Automata Theory & Object Oriented Programming Language. His publication record includes research papers in International Journals and National Conferences, and he has attended QIP’s twice (IIT- Roorkee), various FDP’s and Teaching Learning Programs. He has solid experience in organizing technical & cultural events at college and departmental levels.


Ms. Shobha Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics
Ms. Shobha earned her bachelor’s degree with honours in Mathematics from Delhi University and M.Sc., in Mathematics from IIT Delhi. She successfully completed a project work on the topic “Introductory Life Insurance Mathematics” at IIT Delhi, and has developed a strong understanding of core Mathematics and its applications, notably in Number Theory, Cryptography, MATLB, C Programming and Operation Research. Asst. Prof Shobha qualified GATE in 2013 with an impressive All India Rank of 15.


Ms. Shraddha Parganiha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
Ms. Shraddha Parganiha earned her B.E and MS in Computer Science degrees from the Government Engineering College Bilaspur and has accumulated more than eight of teaching experience. She strongly believes in creating and maintaining a stimulating teaching and learning environment that is not only limited to the classroom. Ms. Parganiha has a dynamic personality with strong guiding, mentoring and managerial skills and she has guided many B.Tech projects in her career. Her areas of interest include Data Structures, Programming Languages and Operating Systems.


Mr. Mritunjay Rai, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation
Mr. Mrityunjay Rai completed his B. Tech. in ECE from Sri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management, Lucknow (SRMCEM) and Master of Engineering (distinction) in Instrumentation and Control from Birla Institute of Technology-Mesra, Ranchi. His areas of interest lie in Speech Processing, Image Processing and Robotics & Automation. Mr. Rai has attended a number of conferences including an international level conference on Automation & Information Technology in Iron and Steel Making and he participated in the 100th Indian Science Congress.


Ms Priyanka Chawla, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
Ms Priyanka Chawla [Ph. D (pursuing), M. Tech, B. Tech] has more than 11 years of Teaching and Research experience. She is an avid researcher in the fields of Soft Computing, Cloud Computing and Software Engineering and has published several research papers in peer reviewed journals. She has also presented several papers at national and international conferences and has co-authored a book “SE Frameworks for Cloud Computing Paradigm” published by Springer. Ms. Chawla is member of the Editorial Board for the Science Publications Journal and is a Life Member of ISTE and IET Technical Societies. She has attended several workshops and training sessions conducted by pioneers including Symantec, Amazon, NASSCOM and Manjrasoft etc and is a certified trainer by EMC2 and Google. She has also completed BSI Certification on Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2004).


Mr. Padmesh Tripathi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics
Mr. Padmesh Tripathi is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department and has over 15 years of teaching experience. He obtained his masters degree from the University of Allahabad, M. Phil. from Alagappa University and is currently pursuing his Ph. D. Mr. Tripathi earned international certification from “DALE CARNEGIE” in “High Impact Teaching Skills”, and has attended several short term courses at prestigious institutes including IIT-Guwahati, Harish-Chandra Research Institute and DAE-Allahabad. Additionally, he has presented papers in various national and international conferences/workshops, and visited the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge, U.K and the University of Eastern Finland to participate in workshops and Summer School sessions. Mr. Tripathi previously organized a national seminar on “Operations Research and its Applications in Engineering and Management” and is a member of The Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), Philadelphia, USA, Life Member of The Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ISIAM), The Ramanujan Mathematical Society and The Purvanchal Academy of Sciences.


Dr. Varsha Gautam, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics
Dr. Varsha Gautam, Ph. D. (Graph Theory) and M. Sc. (IIT-R), is a dedicated teacher with more than 12 years of practical experience at different levels. Dr. Gautam qualified NET (JRF) and possesses high academic credentials with many publications against her name. She has attended many national and international seminars and is currently guiding a research, in the name of A Short Term Course in Research Methodology. Her mentee Ms. Kalika Patrai is pursuing Ph. D. from Gautam Budh Technical University, Lucknow


Dr. Ravindra Kumar Yadav, Professor, Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering
Dr. Ravindra Kumar Yadav, B.E, M.E and Ph.D in Micro-strip Antenna, has 17 years of teaching experience in the field of Microwaves and EM Waves. Dr. Yadav has several papers to his credit in international/national journals, conferences and symposiums, and he has published a book on “Microwave Engineering”. Currently his active research is in the field of Microwave Engineering and Integrated Circuits.




Dr. Ashish Shrivastava, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering
Dr. Ashish Shrivastava earned his B.E. and M.Tech degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Govt. Engineering College, Rewa, and REC (MANIT), Bhopal, respectively. He is awarded Ph.D. on Power Quality Improvements in Lighting Systems from the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Delhi. He has a rich experience of 15 years in academics and has published several research papers in peer reviewed and indexed international journals. Additionally, he has participated in a number of conferences, workshops and seminars focusing on the links between theory and application all of which help him to deliver lectures that make students ‘industry-ready’. He has well developed organizational skills demonstrated in university examinations; guest lectures, seminars and accreditation activities, and his areas of interest include Power Quality, Power Electronics, Drives, Custom Power Devices, SMPS, Electronic Ballast and PFC DC/DC Converters.


Ms. Abha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering

Ms. Sharma is a graduate with Honors in Electrical Engineering, an M. Tech. in Power Systems and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. on “Development of Demand Response Techniques and Demand Response Management Systems”. She has a rich experience of 13 years in teaching, and has delivered several guest lectures on Network Analysis & Synthesis and Control Systems. Her field of interest includes Deregulation, Power System Pricing, Demand Management and Smart Grid and Sustainable Reporting. Ms. Abha Sharma is a sincere and hardworking professional and believes in quality teaching. She encourages students to work as a part of team on subjects of field utility and personally enjoys craft work, Ghazals and travelling.


Mr. Lakha Kumar Mahanta, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering
Mr. Lakha Kumar Mahanta successfully completed his M.E in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Control Systems from BIT Mesra, and his B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bharath University, Chennai. His areas of interest are Image Processing, Signal Processing, Control, Swarm Intelligence, Soft Computing Techniques and Evolutionary Computation.




Dr. S. B. Goyal, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science Engineering
Dr. S. B. Goyal is a specialist in the area of Information Systems Development Methods. He was awarded the Doctorate in Computer Science & Engineering from Banasthali University, Rajasthan. His interest lies in ensuring that information/software systems are systematically developed through use of appropriate technical support and are well aligned to the required business needs. Dr. Goyal has more than 11 years of teaching experience at UG and PG levels. He has guided numerous students’ project/ dissertation in B.Tech and M.Tech. He has presented and published more than 20 research papers in reputed International Conferences/ Journals. He is an active researcher and publisher particularly focusing on Information System and Software Engineering. Dr. Goyal has received the best branch counselor award from IEEE Delhi Section. He is a senior professional member of IEEE Society and active member of ACM.


Mr. Balak Ram, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
An M.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research, Chandigarh, and a B.E. in Computer Science & Engineering from MLNREC, Allahabad, Mr. Balak Ram has accumulated over a decade of teaching experience and has published many papers in national and international journals and conferences. His research is focused on Edge Detection in Image Processing. He has attended a number of conferences, short term courses and FDPs from NITTTR, Chandigarh, and Microsoft Faculty Connect Summer Symposium. He has also organized a Short Term Course on Rural Areas in Basic / Vocational Computing



Ms. Shanthi Makka, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
An Currently pursuing her research in ‘A New Advanced Refactoring based Approach for Parallelism using Heterogeneous Parallel Architectures’, Ms. Shanti Makka is an M. Tech in Computer Science and B. Tech in Computer Science and Systems. She is an enthusiastic researcher in Parallel Computing. She possesses a decade long experience in Teaching. She has many national and international research paper publications to her name. She has attended a number of conferences, FDPs from National Institute of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research, Chandigarh and has also organized various Workshops in previous assignments.



Ms. Beena Chaturvedi, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
Ms. Certified by WIPRO for Excellent Teaching Abilities, Ms. Beena Chaturvedi has about two decades of teaching experience. She is M. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering and PGDM from AIMA Centre for Management Education. She is interested in Bandwidth Enhancement using Micro Strip Antenna as her research.




Mrs. Nidhi Misra, Assistant Professo, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
An M. Tech in Signal Processing, Mrs. Nidhi Misra possesses a dynamic personality and exceptional leadership and managerial quality besides more than five years of teaching experience. She is devoted for research in Electronics and Circuits, Integrated Circuits and Digital Electronics. She has more than a dozen national and international paper publications.




Ms.Usha Sharma,Assistant Professor,Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
Actively involved in research, Ms. Usha Sharma is an M. Tech. in VLSI design and B. E. in Electronics and Communication. She has more than a decade of experience in quality teaching her key area of interest lies in Digital Signal Processing, Signals & Systems, Control System and Image and Speech Signal Processing. She is currently pursuing her Ph. D. on the topic ‘Audio-Visual Feature Modeling for Hindi Speech Recognition’ from ISM, Dhanbad.



Mr. Anuj Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering
Mr. Anuj Gupta earned his B.Tech in Computer Science from Uttar Pradesh Technical University. He has experience in both large scale IT projects and small product centric development. He earned his MS (by Research) from International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad in Distributed Algorithms. He has rich experience in both industry and academia. He has attended a number of national and international conferences/seminars. His areas of interest are Machine Learning, Big Data, Theoretical Computer Science, Algorithms and Mathematics.
