The need for ongoing exploration and innovation is critical in today’s engineering world and it demands the highest level of creativity. A one-day seminar upon “The Scope of Research at National Instruments” was held with the objective of enhancing and creating a road map in the minds of budding engineers whose knowledge of research is often limited. The session focused upon international developments and trends in the field of Engineering, and was delivered by Ms. Kanchan Bhakoo, Academic Technical Consultant from National Instruments, at JRE on Thursday, the 19th of April 2012.
Ms. Bhakoo explained the need for conceptual learning and implementation -- rather than the mere study of theory to retain knowledge. Her highly interactive and motivating seminar focused upon project development and she illustrated various insights with the help of her video presentations. She shared her experiences and knowledge in the field of applications at National Instruments and energised the students through her thought provoking delivery. Ms Bhakoo invited student participations in ongoing projects -- in addition to supporting the development of fresh projects/concepts. Dr. Ramesh Agrawal, Director at JRE, graced the session with his presence and expressed his appreciation for the way she connected with the students. At the end of the session, she was presented with a Memento by Dr. Rao, Dean at the JRE-SOE. The students thanked Prof. Stephen Rawlinson, Dr. Agrawal, Mr Vikas Tomar, Head-IT and Dr. Rao for providing them with such an interesting opportunity for interaction.
