Quite often is it said that success has many a pathway. However, seldom is the way of the successful splattered with roses! It so happened then, that Carlos Watson, MD Education Vertical of Goldman Sachs; had many an experience to share with students at JRE.
Mr. Watson, widely renowned as a highly prolific persona, joined as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in 2010. Prior to this was a successful stint in McKinsey and Company as a consultant, where he advised none other than many a Fortune 500 listed organisation! He envisioned and brought to life a hugely successful venture-backed education company by the name of Achieva College Prep Services; which was later bought by none other than Washington Post Company’s education division better known as ‘Kaplan’.
It is said that nothing comes in the way of a versatile man who adapts to situations; a line which seems to fit Mr. Carlos Watson perfectly. For the man also boasts of a media experience that could well be the envy of many an industry bigwig! Mr. Watson had once been an anchor and analyst at celebrated news corporations such as the CNN and the MSNBC, and if that hasn’t widened your eyes yet, you’ll be thrilled to know that the same man has won an Emmy Award in 2007 for his television interview specials!
JRE students were in for a massive cerebral treat then, as Mr. Carlos Watson elaborated at length upon his life and work experiences with incredible energy and enthusiasm. He shared with them his expert insights upon the present professional needs and demands, his own career choices, developing intellectual abilities, building a powerful personality and a lot more. JRE students too, on their part, responded enthusiastically with queries and questions to get prompt answers! This would go on to be yet another motivational experience for JRE students, rapidly paving their way towards a stable and successful career.
