Business is a multidimensional experience that can hardly be compressed in ‘course materials’. And to learn it well, one needs not just books, but also guiding words from someone who has trodden the same path, faced the obstacles, and emerged a winner! JRE students got this very chance recently, with the CEO of Royal Sporting House, Sandeep Kalra; narrating to them his extensive experiences in the shoe business. He was addressing the PGDM batch for 2011-13, on February 5, at the JRE School of Management in Noida.
In between a highly stimulating interaction with the enthusiastic student crowds, he revealed as to how shoe manufacturers ensure a smooth journey of their product, right from the pre-production stage, to the manufacturing and retail store distribution phases. He observed that the right management methods focus upon every minute detail and anticipate things, at the planning stage itself. A smart plan paves the way for future successes.
The process of buying appears quite simple; in comparison with the tremendous market research that goes into the pre-production phase in the shoe business. The final step towards paving one’s success path however, is the execution phase, which holds the key to getting a massive and profitable achievement! Ultimately, he concluded, it is one’s true passion for what he or she’s doing, that brings one the lasting fruits of delight. Professor Pawan Gupta concluded the lecture which taught students some of the most essential things one needs to know before venturing into the capitalistic world.
