Medical Camp at JRE

by JRE 3. May 2013 05:17

2nd May,2013,JRE Campus:One of the greatest gifts to human beings from nature is ‘good health’. What does this mean? Clear eyes to appreciate nature; healthy taste buds to enjoy food; strong circulation to feed our bodies; a complex and automatic digestive system to distribute nutrition and an unmatchable brain to manage a vast array of tasks are a few wonderful gifts bestowed upon us. It is our duty to protect this body from possible maladies when we can: hence the quote, “Health is Wealth”, has real meaning.

JRE Group of Institutions, promoted by Educomp Solutions Ltd. and Raffles Education Corporation Ltd., understands its responsibilities towards its employees and residents and believes in spreading awareness regarding issues of personal importance. In continuation to its Social Corporate Responsibilities, a medical camp was held in its campus on 2nd May, 2013.

In this camp, routine checkups including Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar and specialized checkups including Eye care and Dental care were covered. Some preventive measures were also suggested all the participants who came from across all sections of the JRE community.

Dr. Amit Tyagi and Dr. Sudha Goyal, from Yatharth Wellness Hospital, for Dental advice and Dr. Prabhat Gupta, from Titan Eye Hospital, were the esteemed doctors invited for the purpose. Mr. Manu Aggarwal coordinated the camp.

A Lecture on Healthy Mind,Healthy Body & Personality by Prof. P. P. Agarwal

by JRE 26. April 2013 10:50

23rd April 2013, JRE Campus:‘Healthy mind resides in a Healthy body and vise versa, which leads us to success.’ We have heard this proverb a number of times but seldom have we tried to follow this. An old man who can give a run for the money to the young ones with his everlasting cheerfulness and display of sheer energy, a man of actions than mere words, Prof. P. P. Agarwal, FIE, Chief Coordinator, IEI Student Chapter, personifies a child’s enthusiasm when on a roll. He personifies the proverb of ‘Healthy Mind’ and ‘Healthy Body’.

A mesmerizing lecture on ‘Healthy Mind and Healthy Body and Personality’ was taken by Prof. Agarwal for first year engineering students of JRE Group of Institutions, one of the premier engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. During his lecture, he explained the need of Stress elimination, Nutrition, Being Happy and relaxed and the Success cycle. The major factor that slows our success rate is stress and nutrition. He emphasized upon ‘say no to junk food as that junks our IQ and health’ and hence the current generation is falling short on innovation. He also dealt with certain aspects of exercises in three categories namely a) Traditional (Yoga and Meditation), b) Modern (Gym and Aerobics) and c) Running (Walking and Jogging) to improve our health and developing stamina. Majority of current generation, according to him, fall short on this aspect and pay the price after some years in 40s.

In the end, Prof. Agarwal gave students some insights into the functioning of Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) (JRE Group of Institution-School of Engineering is a valued member of IEI). He asked the students to be ready for numerous activities in coming days like paper presentation, paper publication, group discussions, industrial visits, summer internships, live projects and many more. The lecture was coordinated by Mr. Bikash Kumar Behera and Mr. Savya Sachi who thanked Prof. P. P. Agarwal for his invaluable time and words for the students. In return he thanked the Dean-SOE, Dr. Krishna Rao, for giving him opportunity to talk to the students.

JRE School of Engineering located in Greater Noida is one of the top engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR and is promoted by India'a top education company named Educomp. JRE offers B.tech in five specializations.

Dr. Krishna Rao, Campus Director, Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dean-SOM, Mr. Vikash Tomar, Head-IT, Mrs. Madhu Bhatt-Head Librarian, and all HODs added elegance to the celebration with their presence, which reinforced JRE’s culture of a pleasant amalgamation of positivity and enjoyment.

Clothes Donation by the Students of JRE Group of Institutions

by JRE 28. December 2012 06:16

When poor people are shivering in this cold winter & NGOs are doing something for them then why not JRE Group of Institutions would do anything. So JREians came ahead & donated clothes, Shoes, Sandals, Blankets, etc. for needy people so that they can protect themselves from cold waves & fog.

Charity Starts from Home..Students started donating from JRE campus to the Mess boys & workers and after that they went to nearby Temple & Slum areas where they distributed to poor people including children, ladies & old people. It was amazing & very satisfactory moment to see when we were donating our retired / old things and people were appreciating that with shopping mood. They were very happy to get some clothes / Blankets to cover them & protect from road side cold winds. It was very surprising that we can help people by giving something which is not very much valuable for us or we treat them as obsolete things.

Thus Social Responsibility Committee of JRE Group of Institutions is thinking to help poor / needy people by donating clothes & other things in this cold weather.

Executive Summary:
The entire discussion was about what it takes to be the entrepreneur. The term is considered fashionable but the journey to start one’s own venture ain’t that easy and requires lot of hard work to make the venture stable. To be an entrepreneur may sound dreamy, heroic, adventurous but at the same time this may be very lonely job with lot of struggle.

Topic Discussed:
The discussion was started by Mrs. Kalpana Sinha who called entrepreneurs as the “opportunity seekers” and said that entrepreneurs are the need of the hour to employ every Indian. Then Mr. Pulkit Bakshi beautifully described an entrepreneur as a King or a Hero who teaches people a new way of life, is an adventurer, gladiator, parent, guardian, and along with that agent of chaos, sometimes crazy freak, disturber of order, believer, dreamer. He discussed how his small business venture Fabrica India turned out to be the India’s biggest Institutional Merchandising Company.

Mr. Manish Pathak was next and he quoted that“In thing is not so in”.He said that this dreamy world of entrepreneurship is not an easy journey and many a times a very lonely journey. He discussed that entrepreneurship is an attitude and entrepreneurs work to create value. They have attitude to never give up.Then Ms. Runjhun Gupta came up and talked about job satisfaction and the inner satisfaction that one get when he/she do the work he/she enjoys the most.

The journey of an entrepreneur is a roller coaster ride with lot of ups and downs. Entrepreneurs are Rebels who don’t follow the normal trend and bring out the change which revolutionizes the world.

by JRE 17. November 2012 08:24

On November 08, 2012, twenty JRE students from the Schools of Engineering and Management attended Mahindra’s Automobile Quotient as spectators. The audience comprised students from a number of colleges and the JRE contingent participated actively in the quiz.We are delighted by the high level of interaction overall and to note that the JRE students won all the audience participation prizes.

Purpose of Visit:

The NDTV audience cell extended an invitation to JRE Management and Engineering students to participate in the Mahindra Automobile Quiz Show as part of the multi-college interactive audience. The event was coordinated and supervised by Dr. Garima Jha, HOD, JRE English Dept., who accompanied the students to the studio. The prime purpose of the trip was to provide students with live exposure to the studio and to interact with famous ‘Television Faces’.The program will telecast over NDTV news in the near future and will also be available on the official website of NDTV.

Achievements:

Not only did JRE students win prizes by answering questions on automobile technologies proving themselves to be technically strong, but they also learned about studio management through observing what the audiences do not see. They now appreciate the efforts of people who work behind the scenes and were amazed to learn that a 30-minute-show takes about 4 hours to shoot. It was an excellent opportunity for the students who expressed their keenness to participate again in such events.

Spiritual Bliss and Values at JRE SOM

by JRE 23. October 2012 12:13

15th October, 2012

JRE School of Management welcomed an eminent Swami, Swami Chidrupananda, who heads Acharya Chinmaya Mission, Noida. He is also the Director, North Zone for the Chinmaya Yuva Kendras and coordinates the activities of CHYK in this Zone.

Swami Chidrupananda disseminated values on life and how one should not frame a point goal. Rather you should have alternatives which take you to the same goal but through another pathway or direction. He talked about simple things about life, important to students and to any persons in general, yet, so ignored and narrowly viewed. He shared his knowledge and experiences on Career, Career Planning, Goal, and Discipline.

He is a persona one of its kind. He told us about values of life in a unique and interesting way and much relevance to a management student. It was amazing the way he could amaze and woo the audience with his humour- filled anecdotes and some interesting corporate insights pertaining to interviews and corporate life. It was really a thrilling experience to meet a Swami who could make sense to a management student and so relevantly. It was all due to his industry exposure and strong values of life.  Attired in a saffron kurta (as you can imagine of any Swami), his discourse was a blend of values and how one should conduct in life. He talked about two kinds of knowledge: Academic and Life. And, how every institute lacks in imparting knowledge on life, how to cope up with frustrations, disappointments, failures, and sorrows? How to control our emotions and temptations and focus on our goal?

He talked about the flaws education system continues to have. And, how mean and narrow our goals are. According to him, it is equally necessarily to give up unnecessary things in order to focus on the necessary things. And, Goal of life  Life in Goal. Rather, goal is a direction of life. And, one more interesting quote in his own very words “Youths are not careless, but cared less and not useless but used less.” At the end, he showed a few videos which wowed the students and inspired and filled us with motivation. We were pleased to ask him to visit us again. Everyone was bubbling with enthusiasm and motivation.

It was a needed session of spirituality blended with motivation for us!
