“Intellectual Property Intervention for Academic Institutions”
Seminar aimed to apprise students with the growing importance of intellectual property rights in business in the age of invasive technology
Greater Noida, 22nd April, 2014: JRE Group of institutions – Greater Noida and Accures Legal, a leading intellectual property, corporate and commercial firm jointly organized a half-day seminar on “Intellectual Property Intervention for Academic Institutions” today at the JRE campus. The seminar focused on importance of IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) due to greater influence of technology on our lives.
The seminar mainly focused on the change in the educational institutions where they are becoming both- training as well as research institutions. The educational institutions are increasingly engaging themselves in industry-oriented research activities and that raises the critical issue of protection of research activities and its exploitation to the fullest. This seminar provided a platform for the Academics and MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) to come together and collate knowledge about IP, understand its need and increasing importance in the world and India.
The event was addressed by prominent leaders from the industry who spoke at the event. The inaugural address was delivered by Vedant Pujari a well-known figure in the legal circle in Delhi and the founder of Accures Legal.
Other prominent speakers at the event included Anil Bhardwaj,Secretary General of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME),Prof. M.M Pant, a faculty member at IIT, Kanpur and a member of the Board of Governors at IIT, Delhi, and Dr. Ramman Mittal, professor at Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Prof. Mahesh Gandhi: Chief Advisor and Senior Vice President of JRE School of Management, Dr. Vishal Talwar: Dean – JRE School of Management and Dr. Krishna Rao: Dean – JRE School of Engineering also graced the occasion.
