JRE-Educomp Foundation Celebrated World AIDS Day

To commemorate World’s AIDS day, JRE in collaboration with the Educomp Foundations carried out a number of initiatives to create awareness about symptoms, causes and prevention at Jaitpur Village on 30 November, 2013

The event opened with a warm welcome speech by Mr. Nikhil Sahai, Vice-Coordinator of SAMANVAYA: the Social Responsibility Club at JRE School of Management. The inaugural address was presented by Dr. I.C. Sharma from Delhi State AIDS Control Society after which the student social leaders from JRE School of Management, Mr. Nitin Chowdhary & Mr. Jaiki Sinha presented a speech to create awareness.

The student team presented an interesting “Nukkad-Natak”- a street play based on the theme “Let’s Live Together” and then distributed around 500 copies of pamphlets and booklets about AIDS awareness in the village.  Following this, a poster making competition was organized on the same theme for the youngsters of the village, and then a series of counseling sessions were conducted by a team of doctors from Delhi State AIDS Control Society.

The day ended with a friendly volley ball match between JRE and Jaitpur Youth, which attracted a large number of adult viewers.  This was very gratifying for the organizing teams since they are constantly striving to increase participation in the many activities designed to support the village development.

Other prominent guest present included the Principal of the “Primary school”, Mr. Mahendra Pal, Principal of “Muskan Public School”, Mr. Sovendra Bhatti and Principal of “Ram Rahim Public School”, Mr. Munna Singh along with other village leaders and residents.
