JRE Group of Institution on 7th September, 2013 successfully organised HR Summit, 2013 hosted by HR Club,HUMANAGERS. The summit was presided by some of the eminent guests from industries giving an insight into the world of HR Professionals and their challenges.
The Chief Guest Ms. Geetanjali Pandit, Chief People Officer, Zee Media enlightened the audience on myriad aspects of HRD and HRM and even quench the thirst of questions which students raised to them. They talked about how important it is to have a sense of identity and firewall your career in this economic slowdown scenario. The Guest of Honour Mr. Blesson George, Head Business HR, Jubilant Life Sciences Limiteddiscussed the importance of gelling with people and also highlighted that one cannot perform in isolation. He also emphasized on the rightsizing of workforce in the organisation to be effective and sustainable.
The guest speakers then started with a panel discussion on “HRM: Leading through Intense Change & Transformation”. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Pratik Dubey, Zonal Head HR, Coca-Cola. The Panel members were –

They discussed the challenges being faced by HR Leaders to become more ‘Strategic’. Emphasis was given on transforming the HR Department from Transactional to a more business enabling transformational HR. These leaders also highlighted on how they are transforming their HR structures according to the changing scenarios to support business growth.

Mr. Nirmal Raghav- Zonal Head HR Idea Cellular, added a pinch of humour in the summit. According to him an organisation is like a “plate” and HR are like “achaar”(pickles) that adds taste and flavour. A philosophical quote which explains the role of HR, “I am there. I am not there. But still I am there”.
Mr. Blesson George advised the students to maintain a professional profile on social media as these days companies are using it as one of the measures to validate the candidature of prospective employees.
The entire Summit was built around to help the budding managers to become more effective HR professionals and widening their horizons to new perspectives.
